The hinges were designed to break first to save the rest of the awning from being damaged so that's why there's a wind warning. The Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awning # RR32132 uses brackets with t-bolts and is designed to slide in the accessory slot of a crossbar, as you can see in the attached video below. The Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awning, part # RR32133, mounts to either the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform or the T-slots of other crossbars.
Your 2017 Honda CR-V with factory crossbars do not have T-slots, so your only option is to attach a Pioneer Platform. The small capacity universal one is part # RR42114BF.
